This workshop guide offers the learning activities: “What do you know about 64?”, an exponent matching jig-saw and other activities to revise the basic ideas of exponents and surds using numbers. In addition there are further activities to introduce algebraic  expressions and to help learners to find explanations of why the rules work for the operations on expressions involving exponents and surds.
