200721 AIMSSEC Courses Outline

WE HOPE TO OFFER THE MATHEMATICAL THINKING COURSE STARTING ON 1 AUGUST 2021.

Teaching in under resourced communities presents many challenges. AIMSSEC’s mission is to empower teachers, teacher trainers and subject advisors to combat poverty by bringing new skills, new hopes and new horizons to African schools and raising standards of mathematics. Courses are taught by an international team of mathematics education experts.

Find your own funding or apply for a bursary.  Criteria for bursaries depend on the poverty level of the area of your school and the school fees. Residential courses for subject leader training are followed by 3 or 6 months distance learning. Either stay in the student hostel at Stellenbosch High School or book your own B&B.

At present AIMSSEC has no funding for bursaries for MT courses. The MTOnline courses now running are for teachers chosen by the sponsors: the South African Mathematics Foundation (SAMF) and the SA National Department of Basic Education. Names of applicants for future MT courses will be added to the waiting list.
